B-BBEE Consultant
Location: Bryanston, Johannesburg
Terms: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: R 20 000 to R 30 000 CTC per month
About the Company
The Company is a B-BBEE Consulting and Advisory company that focuses on assisting companies to achieve their B-BBEE objectives. This includes but is not limited to monitoring the B-BBEE status levels/scoring achieved by our clients, reviewing and implementing B-BBEE initiatives, and developing B-BBEE transformation strategies.
About the Role
Collaborate with clients to develop tailored B-BBEE implementation plans and monitor progress toward achieving transformation objectives. Stay abreast of changes in B-BBEE legislation, industry trends, and best practices to provide proactive insights and recommendations to clients.
Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
- Assist in developing annual B-BBEE plans for clients
- Design, delivery, and implementation of BEE policies, procedures, and initiatives in line with legislative and compliance requirements, as well as strategic business objectives
- Manage & coordinate data collection processes
- Participate and drive discussions with internal and external stakeholders about progress in implementing the transformation strategy
- Manage the B-BBEE scorecard scenarios required for annual planning
- Compile a quarterly current state reports for review
- Manage client annual audit processes
- Keep updated with changes and developments in BBBEE legislation and regulations
- Keep updated with various Sector Charters
- Work closely with the verification agencies to understand interpretation issues on client matters
- Maintain sound relationships with clients
- Client retention
- Any other B-BBEE related work
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams in the successful execution of client engagements, ensuring timely deliverables that meet the budget and scope of the project
- Problem-solving: Utilising a combination of experience, innovation, and analytical skills to address a client’s needs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Client retention and seeking opportunities for additional value-adding services to offer clients
- Monitor market trends to develop and improve existing products and services
- Develop annual B-BBEE plans for clients
- Design, deliver and implement BEE policies, procedures, and initiatives in line with legislative and compliance requirements, as well as strategic business objectives
- Manage and coordinate data collection processes
- Participate and drive discussions with internal and external stakeholders regarding the progress of achieving the transformation strategy
- Manage and populate the B-BBEE scorecard
- Compile quarterly progress reports
- Manage client annual audit processes
- Keep updated with changes and developments in B-BBEE legislation and regulations
- Keep updated with various Sector Charters and guidance notes
- Work closely with Verification Agencies to understand interpretation issues on client matters
Candidate Requirements
Qualification
- Matric (Senior Certificate)
- Completed BCOM degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or relevant qualifications (Focus is on completed degrees or diplomas that allow for a strong understanding of financial statements)
- Proven track record as a B-BBEE Consultant or Technical Signatory with at least 8 years of experience in the B-BBEE industry
- Ideally 4 years’ experience as a B-BBEE Consultant or Verification analyst
Competencies
- Valid Driver’s License and own Transport
- In-depth knowledge and application of B-BBEE legislation, related sector codes and related Laws
- B-BBEE technical knowledge/understanding
- Strong administration skills
- MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Outlook – Crucial
- Strong Knowledge in BBBEE legislation and related Laws
- Excellent communication Skills (both written and verbal)
